Kim Dang – Spouse:

" As a spouse in retrogression, the Network has allowed me to connect with recruiters and human resources advisers to learn about the city and how best to seek opportunities for career growth. Through the Network's events I have met other spouses who have also taken that leap, left lucrative careers in other countries, and have relocated to the Seattle area.

With those I have met, we have built our own informal linkages supporting one another in our career search or just to learn about the city as we each begin new chapters of our lives. I made the decision to attend the events for the speakers, and I joined the online forum to communicate with others in the network.  However, I remain a member because I strongly support the mandate and work of the Network.

I still connect on a regular basis with many people I have met since joining [the group] in February 2008. It is a very positive and encouraging environment. For MS employees - I encourage you to inform your spouses about this great resource; they will be happy you did. For MS spouses, it is a great way to meet others in similar situations to your own. Kudos to the Network and for the organizers!"

Mahi Saraf – Spouse:

“I see myself getting up in the morning making two cups of tea, making breakfast, packing my husband’s lunch and saying goodbye to him. I often reminisce of the days when I was busy, when every minute I spent had meaning.

Then, one fine morning I see an e-mail forwarded to me by my husband about a program initiated by Microsoft for Spouses affected by the Green Card Retrogression. I went to the first event and thought it was wonderful!

Since then I have never missed a single event. I have enjoyed the events so much that I have become an active spouse committee member.”

Simantinee Roy – Spouse:

“I like to thank Microsoft for initiating such an effort for us. The Spouse Networking Series has helped me on both the personal and professional front.

By participating in the committee, I have had the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life.

I would encourage all of you to become a part of the challenging journey and help us achieve our goal.”
